This site is dedicated to innovative ways of working with young people on local history and heritage projects. There are two main sections: Living Museums, looking at work based around heritage sites; and Dreaming Museums, which are virtual projects. We showcase the work of Dorothy Heathcote - and projects inspired by her work. You can also find a "toolkit" of ideas and teaching strategies.
THE MUSEUM OF LOST STORIES

The Archway of Tears was the name given to the entrance to the Birmingham Workhouse. Now, it has been demolished. We have created The Museum of Lost Stories, to commemorate the lives of people who lived there.
And the lives of others, whose stories are also in danger of being forgotten...

Funded by Birmingham City Council
